Brook Adams
Guitar ain’t nuthin’ but a Big Ukulele and Brook Adams rocks the house on both instruments. He plays a cartoon mix of 20th century music with funky soul rhythms and a smoky tenor voice. His own songs are influenced by the Beatles, Dr. John, Louis Jordan, Django Reinhardt, and the Three Stooges.
Adams teaches and records in Eugene, Oregon. He is known for his oneman/oneuke performance of the Beatles “Abbey Road” album and more recently, a ukecentric version of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Goin’ On.” He has recorded eight albums, the last two with his regular group, the Swingin’ Marmalukeys. He has played festivals and toured from California to New York and a few rather odd places too. He is cofounder of the Eugene UKEtoberFest ukulele festival.

Denise Hinz & Patty Sage
Denise Hinz and Patty Sage are from Eugene and have been playing together for two years with their band-mates, The Refreshments. They love drinking wine and singing Doo Wop, in that order. They have both been instrumental (no pun intended) in orchestrating Eugene’s Uketoberfest for the last four years. You may have caught their act at Fox Hollow Residential Care Center, the Springfield Farmer’s Market or their blowout performance at the Supreme Bean last summer. The Brewer’s Union Pub in Oakridge was packed for the April, 2010 performance by the Refreshments in Oakridge.

James Clem
James has been a performer of American Roots Music for over thirty years. Starting as a blues guitarist he has expanded through the years into rockabilly, ragtime, swing and added ukulele to his bag of tricks several years ago. Rock legend John Fogerty calls him “A great guitar player. I’m a fan!”. In 2010, he did a tour of England and has played uke festivals worldwide. He is currently recording a new CD and lives in Portland, Oregon.
