Mountain Biking

Oakridge is the mountain biking capital of the northwest.  There are over 300 miles of premium single track easily accessible from the hostel’s door.  The events below tell their own story of superb biking terrain and access.

Stop in at the Willamette National Forest offices, 4 miles west of Oakridge, or Willamette Mountain Mercantile right in Oakridge  for current trail conditions. Tour and shuttle services are available if you would like a packaged tour. Oregon Adventures will help you put together a great trip.

A variety of  mountain biking events happen annually in Oakridge two new ones were added in 2010.

Mountain Bike Oregon (MBO) was started in 2004 with 30 riders, now it is a very popular ” sold out event” with  300 riders. There are two rides: July & August. Check it out.

The Cascade Cream Puff is a 100 mile mountain bike race attracting entries from all over the United States.  The race is scheduled for  July 10, 2011, watch their site for the opening of registration and other details.   http://www.cascadecreampuff.com/
